Police registers case
Bandipora, March 7, CNS: Police Saturday registered a formal case against the group of people who allegedly manhandled and thrashed Executive Officer Municipal Committee Sumbal in North Kashmirs Bandipora district.
Police sources told CNS that a group of daily-wagers employed by previous Coalition Government in Municipal Committee Sumbal Saturday barged into the office of Executive Officer Bashir Ahmed Dar and mercilessly thrashed him. We have registered a case and hunt has been launched to nab the assailants, Station House Officer Sumbal Police station Inspector Mehboob Banday informed CNS.
Executive Officer Bashir Ahmed who was injured during the assault and was shifted to hospital said that the assailants attacked him after he refused to prepare a report in their favour. Scores of people were employed by previous government in Municipal Committee Sumbal. High Court while terming these appointments as illegal had sought a detailed report from me. These assailants were forcing me to prepare report in their favour and when I refused, they abused and manhandled me, he said. (CNS)
