Jammu: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Tuesday, said his party would ensure representation and empowerment to all sections of the society, and would specially focus on the socio-economic needs of the Gujjar and Bakerwal community of Jammu and Kashmir.
Interacting with a delegation of Gujjar and Bakerwal community who called on him here today, Mufti said the community is an importantsection of the society which needs a focused and complete development plan to ensure progress and respectable life.
Mufti said the community has faced a systematic neglect, and its political emancipation, educational and economic advancement forms important constituent of the PDPs core policy.
The delegation told the PDP patron that while there is political representation available to Gujjar community in Jammu province, butsame is not true for the people living in large numbers in the Kashmir Valley, so it would be appropriate to appoint vice-chairman of Gujjar Bakerwal Advisory Board from the Valley
Mufti assured them that the board will be made effective so that it comes up to the expectation of the people.
