SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (G) Majlis-e-Shura Tuesday accused authorities of adopting a vague policy viz a viz the West Pakistan Refugees in order to settle them in the state permanently.
Their policy is ambiguous and unclear and it looks that a conspiracy has been hatched to permanently settle them in Jammu & Kashmir and all the possible alliance partners have agreed on its secret implementation, General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Sumji told the meeting here.
The meeting was attended by the heads and representatives of all its constituents. In the meeting the latest political developments in the state and the future strategy regarding to the issues were discussed.
Sumji in his presidential address said that The stand of BJP regarding this issue was known to everybody but PDP was playing a cunning game over this.
He expressed apprehension that the possible alliance partners have mutually agreed upon issuing of Permanent State Subject certificates to the WPRs but because of the public resistance, they didnt want to make this decision public and want to execute it secretly.
The Hurriyat (G) general secretary said that with the result of partition the people who migrated to Jammu & Kashmir from the western Pakistan are residing here as our guests from last 68 years and their permanent settlement in this disputed state has no legal or moral justification.
The state constitution has unambiguous and clear stand regarding this issue and it doesnt allow any non-state subject to permanently settle in this state. We are not enemies of the refugees and we consider their matter as human issue but India has 28 states and these refugees can be permanently settled in any of the states like Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP and it will be in the interest of everybody to settle them in any other place without disturbing the disputed status of this state, Sumji said and added that Kashmiries cant be held responsible and nor can they be punished for the issues and problems created due to the partition of India.
There are political objectives behind the permanent settlement of the WPR in Jammu and Kashmir and with the help of this, India want to change the demography of the state.
