Srinagar: Three hundred and five voters have pressed NOTA button in high profile Sonawar Constituency which was bagged by Peoples Democratic Party candidate Muhammad Ashraf Mir who defeated Chief Minister Omar Abdullah by 4783.
There were 14 candidates in fray. PDP candidate Mir secured 14283 followed by Omar Abdullah who secured 9500 votes. Peer Bilal an independent candidate finished third by securing 4394 votes, Lal Din Mir of Jammu & Kashmir People Conference 1996 votes, Darakshan Andrabi of Bharatiya Janata Party 1100 votes, Khem Lata Wakloo of Indian National Congress 808 votes, Parvez Jamal Independent candidate 458 votes, Muhammad Younis Najar of Rashtriya Jankranti Party 410 votes, Malik Noor-ul-Amin independent candidate 226 votes, Gowhar Ahmed Malik another independent candidate 179 votes, Farooq Ahmed Dar of Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party 161 votes, Amjid Ali Buhroo of All India Forward Bloc 141 votes Abdul Rashid Lone of Republican Party of India 89 votes and Riyaz Ahmed Wani of All J&K Kisan Majdoor Party secured only 57 votes.
