SRINAGAR: Awami ittihaad Party (AIP) President Engineer Rashid has urged upon the electorate to vote for the AIP candidates as AIP represents aspirations of masses. Adressing public meetings at Shangas, Achabal and Utrosa he asked people of Shangas to send a strong and sincere representative to assembly.
Engineer Rashid assailed film celebrities especially the likes of Hema Malini, Vinod Khana and Raj Babbar to introspect with their inner conscience as they visit Kashmir just for vested interests. He said. I want to question the celebrities and pseudo intellectuals of India who just visit Kashmir at times which are fruitful for their personal gains and never pay a heed when this burning paradise witnesses a human carnage. Where does the conscience of these so called hifi personas go when one lac Kashmiris were killed one wonders. Let these film stars realise that all that for what people appreciate them in some good movies, Kashmiris have been doing and facing that on the ground since 1989.” He accused PDP and NC of letting down the people and trying to divert their true and genuine rights and aspirations.
On the occasion, Engineer Rashid made a fervent Appeal to the electorate of Shangus constituency to vote for AIP candidate so that true aspirations of browbeaten nation of Kashmir get an effective heed in the Assembly.
