Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat Conference G Sayed Ali Geelani is continuously under the house detention and today on 22 August, he was 19th time denied the permission to offer the Friday congregational prayers.
According to a statement, a Hurriyat G spokesman said that the deployment of police personals outside Geelanis residence was more than the normal days and they were strictly enquiring the visitors today. While terming the government action as intolerable, Hurriyat Conference strongly condemned this. In a statement issued to the press, hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that though there are many Mosques located in the surrounding of Geelani residence and the Friday congregational prayers are also held in these Mosques regularly but the pro-freedom is even not allowed to go to these Mosques which is a out of frustration decision of the government. He said that the imprisonment of Geelani has completed its four years in Omer Abdullah rule and it still continues.
Subjecting a person to such a vengeance merely on the bases of political differences proves the mismanagement of the present government and by these types of activities, Omer Abdullah have proven as a weakest administrator.
Hurriyat spokesman said that Omer Abdullah doesnt have any capability to learn anything from the history. When his grandfather Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was running the plebiscites movement, he too was being imprisoned by the then government to keep him away from the public and the National Conference was terming them as the drain worms and traitors. However today the Omer Abdullah also play the same character of drain worms and traitors because the struggle which was left halfway by the Sheikh Abdullah in 1975, is now run by Geelani and he is rising his voice for the right to self determination of Kashmiri nation. Hurriyat spokesman further said that Geelani mosques represents a thought and an ideology, he could be confined to the four walls but no one can imprison his ideology and thinking. These ideologies spread day by day and the new generation of the Kashmiri nation has adopted these ideologies by the heart.
