Srinagar: Ittihadul Muslimeen Friday organized peaceful demonstrations at Hanjiwera,Patan after Friday prayers for the people in Gaza.
A large number of people from all walks of life while condemning the slaughter of innocent civilians, children and women by Israeli bombardment in Gaza joined the protests.
Demonstrators holding placards and banners which portrayed the situation in Gaza and chanted slogans like Down with America, Down with Israel, Save Gaza, Shia-Sunni brothers and other slogans of unity.
The protestors were giving a message that imperialist powers by allowing the massacre of Palestinians were actually planning a conspiracy to kill Palestinian Muslims which is not acceptable to Islamic nation.
This Solidarity March with the Palestinian people was taken out under the leadership of Ghulam Ahmad Malla, District President of JKIM.
The rally was taken from from Hanjiwera, Patan and was planned to end at Gund Khawaja Qasim via Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway but police dispersed them and prevented the protestors to move forward.
Meanwhile the spokesman for the JKIM has said that last Friday of Ramadan is the International Quds Day that will be celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir along with the world and according to the scheduled program the rallies will be held in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine
