Srinagar: Ali Mohammad Sagar, Cabinet Minister and
General Secretary of the ruling National Conference on Wednesday said that the state government will soon take a decision on regularization of daily wagers. Sagar said that the party is committed to address the grievances of the employees working on low wages and the departments concerned have been asked to submit the details required for their regularization. He said that the state cabinet has already taken a decision which called for details of Daily Wagers/Daily Rated Workers from various departments by ending June, 2014 to take a final call on the matter.
Sagar said that the government understands the difficulties of the workers and will take a positive decision in their favour. Sagar said that the matter for regularization of all such Daily Wagers/Daily Rated Workers who have been engaged after January, 1994 was pending before the Government for want of certain details and a clear cut policy.
The State Cabinet discussed the issue in depth and called for complete details pertaining to the engagement of such workers from various departments by ending June, 2014 positively so that a policy decision is taken, Sagar added. Meanwhile, the NC general secretary said the party will soon take a call on the list of its candidates for the forthcoming assembly elections. We are waiting for the arrival of Dr Farooq Saheb and as soon as he arrives, party will take a final call on the list of candidates, he added.
