Budgam: Street Vendors staged a protest in Central Kashmirs Pakharpora town after police started a drive to vacate them from the premises of main bus stand.
Eyewitnesses said that a police party led by Chowki officer Waseem Ahmed
started an extensive encroachment drive in Pakharpora Bus Stand and its adjacent areas to clear the footpaths, and pavements from the encroached by shopkeepers and street vendors.
During the drive, street vendors whose goods were seized by police staged demonstrations, however police chased them away.
A police official said that they will not allow these vendors to cause inconvenience to general public and devotees.
