Srinagar: Scores of areas all across Kashmir are reeling under darkness during the ongoing holy month of Ramadhan while protestors blocked roads at a number of places and amid anti-PDD slogans demanded the continuous supply of electricity during the holy month.
Eyewitnesses said that scores of people soon after the afternoon prayers blocked the road in Pakherpora. Protestors alleged that different areas of the town are witnessing pesky power cuts while some areas are completely reeling under darkness. The protestors blocked traffic for hours and raised slogans against the officials of Sub-Division Newa Pulwama who according to them are indifferent towards their problems.
The protestors said that the areas like Dalwan, Kanigam, Mohanpora, Chek Sheru, Kamrazipora, Gojar Basti, Karapora, Chararipora and Keigam are without electricity from past three days.
Residents of Watlab, Janwara, Hathlango and other areas of Apple town Sopore also staged protest against the scarcity of electricity during the holy month of Ramadhan. Similar protests were also reported from Nesbal, Tengapora and Naninara areas of Sumbal town in Bandipora district.
News outlets here have been receiving scores of phone calls wherein people allege that they are facing power cuts especially during Sehri and Iftar time.
