Kangan: Police Friday lodged an FIR against the security guards of proposed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Kangan Assembly Constituency after his party worker alleged that his security guards and a PDP Sarpanch thrashed him mercilessly at his residence.
Police sources said that PDP worker Irfan Naqashbandi registered a formal complaint before police station Kangan alleging that the security guards of PDP candidate Bashir Ahmed Mir and a Sarpanch beat him to pulp at his residence in Preng Mari Kangan.
The complainant alleged that he was beaten on the behest of Bashir Ahmed Mir and accordingly we registered an FIR vide number 45/2014 under section 451, 506 against the Sarpanch Ghulam Rasool, Constable Abdul Rasheed and Constable Irfan Ahmed, A CNS report quoting a police official wishing anonymity as said.
The police official added that they are investigating the matter and if proved the accused would be arrested.
Terming the allegations baseless, Bashir Ahmed Mir said that the complainant Irfan Naqashbandhi is spreading false rumours on social media against him. Naqashbandhi is trying to malign my image on the behest of National Conference leader Mian Altaf, he alleged.
He further said that none of his security guards assaulted him.
Despite repeated attempts MLA Kangan Mian Altaf could not be contacted.
