SRINAGAR: Shab-e-Baraat was observed across the state with religious zeal and fervor. Night long prayers were held at Jamia Masjid Srinagar and all important shrines and mosques.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq spoke about the significance of Shab-e-Baraat and said it was a divine night when Almighty Allah arranges affairs of the next one year.
On Shab-e-Barat, Allah writes the destinies of all his creations for the coming year by taking into account their past deeds, he said.
Large number of people visited graveyards to offer fatiha for their departed loved ones.
