Srinagar- The crescent for Shaban Al-Moazzam has not been sighted on Thursday and the first day of the month will fall on March 5 and Shab-e-Barat will be observed on March 19.
The Shaban moon was not sighted either in India or neighboring country Pakistan on Thursday and thus the first Shaban will fall on March 5. Accordingly, Shab-e-Barat will be observed on March 19.
Shab-e-Barat is also known as the night of forgiveness. It is annually observed for seeking forgiveness and repenting by Muslims by visiting the graves of family members and mosques.
