SRINAGAR: Lt. General D.S Hooda, Army Commander, Northern Command, called on N.N Vohra, Governor, and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, an official spokesman said Monday. This was his first meeting with the Governor and the CM after taking over as Northern Army Commander on 2nd June 2014.
During their hour long meeting, the Governor and the Northern Army Commander discussed issues relating to security management in all three regions of the State, across the International Border, LoC and LaC. Lt. Gen. Hooda also briefed the Governor about the continuing attempts of infiltration from across the LoC and the Armys planning to counter all subversive activities.
He also informed the Governor about the preparations underway to ensure effective security for forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra, on all fronts.
Lt. Gen. D S Hooda later called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here and briefed him about the current security scenario in the State.
During the meeting various issues pertaining to security and law and order situation were also discussed.
