DODA, JUNE 07-Continuing with their efforts to attract tourists and boost tourism related activities in Bhaderwah valley, Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) is going to organize its annual two days Bhaderwah Tourism-cum-Cultural Festival on 18th and 19th of June 2014. This was revealed in a meeting of officers convened by District Development Commissioner Doda Mr. Mubarak Singh today. SSP Doda Mr. M.S Chouhan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr. Imam Din, CEO BDA Mr. Angrez Singh, CPO Doda Mr. Y.S Katoch besides other District and Sectoral Officers also attended the meeting.
Addressing the officers DDC said that, Tourism plays an important role in the economic development of the state and keeping this in mind the BDA is keen on exploring the tourism potential of the Bhaderwah valley and bringing more and more areas of the district on tourist map of the State and the Country.
He said type of festival in the area will not only give boost to economy of the area but will also help immensely in transforming socio economic condition of the people of the region by creating job opportunities for the unemployed youth. He said Bhaderwah Tourism Cum Cultural Festival has become an annual feature depicting the culture of Bhaderwah in particular and erstwhile District Doda in general .This two-days cultural festival will showcase various tourist destinations in Bhaderwah town.
DDC gave strict instructions to all the departments concerned, to gear up for making this event a successful one. He directed the officials of PHE Department to ensure availability of safe and secure drinking water facility during the event. Health Officials were also asked to depute / keep in place a medical team of doctors and attendants to attend any emergency at the venue. EO Municipality Bhaderwah was directed to maintain cleanliness and expedite the repair work of the damaged roads and lanes in the area. For smooth movement of traffic and hassle free transportation facility for the public on that day, ARTO Doda was directed to ensure the extra deployment of Public Transport facilities on Doda-Bhaderwah route.
Earlier CEO BDA gave an account of various activities to be showcased during the festival. He informed that stalls of all the departments highlighting their activities will be installed to exhibit their role and performance.
