Srinagar: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) is holding a one-day workshop on Examination-Evaluation Reforms: Challenges and Responses at its Transit Campus Sonwar here on Saturday.
Giving details about the event, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Gilkar, said the main aim and objective of organising the workshop is to invite people from academics and administration of the university to a common platform to ponder over and review the system of examination with reference to the theme of the programme. Examinations essentially assess the minimum level of competency achieved by the learners after completion of a course in a programme in line with the pre-set learning objectives. The deficiencies in the system need continual attention with the objective to raise the standard of examination and evaluation and ultimately education, he said.
The deliberations at the workshop shall focus on the evaluation of present examination system both at Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) level and End Semester Examination (ESE). Beside they will discuss possible role of Technological Intervention in improving the examination evaluation system. The impact of innovative practices used across the globe in this regard would also be discussed threadbare.
