Srinagar: The political affairs Committee of Peoples Conference which met here under chairmanship of Sajad Gani Lone unanimously nominated Mr Salamuddin Bajad as the party candidate from Baramullah for the 2014 Lok Sabah elections.
Mr Salamuddin Bajad retired as Deputy Director General Doordarshan last year.
Speaking on the occasion Sajad Lone said In keeping with our promise of change and empowerment we proudly present Salamuddin Bajad Sahib as our candidate for the Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency.
A role model in many ways he is a true reflection of how in the face of grave adversity and poverty he struggled his way to the top out of sheer hardwork and determination. The opportunity once unlocked his daughter now also prides herself as the first female IAS officer from Kashmir. He has been chosen not only because he is a prodigy of Late Abdul Gani Lone who took him under his wings and groomed him, but because he represents the hope and fulfillment which we as a party strive for our people and the common Kashmiri aspires and identifies with, he said.
