Govt used us against Kashmir Issue: JKPC

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (JKPC) Thursday stated that the state government used Panches and Sarpanches in valley against the Kashmir issue at the International level.

According to KNS, JKPC accused that the state government has made the Panches and Sarpanches ‘scapegoats ‘and the propaganda against Kashmir issue was surfaced due to which six members have been killed sofar. “Our only intention to participate in the Panchayat elections was to serve the people of kashmir and to resolve their day to day issues and these elections had nothing to do with the dimensions of Kashmir issue.”

The President of JKPC Bashir Ahmad Malik further said that the members of the association will teach Congress and National Conference a lesson in the forthcoming polls and that the real problem in Kashmir is corruption and favoritism and the miseries are being faced by the people of the land due to the miss governance of the political parties in the state. “We are ready to support any clean image civil society group in Kashmir if it intends to eradicate the corrupt system from the state.”

The Association further mentioned that the main hurdle in the empowerment of Panchayat institutions in valley is the present coalition government and that the association will in the coming time leave for Delhi wherein it will raise the issues to AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
