BUDGAM: To finalise the arrangements for ensuing Muharram and to redress the grievances of the people, Deputy Commissioner Budgam convened public meeting at Magam here today. All the district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
Various issues of public interest including macadamization of Babapora and Sehpora roads, availability of essentials, distribution of firewood, interrupted power and potable drinking water were threadbare discussed.
It was given out that water supply to areas like Sofipora, Kralpora and Manhama shall be ensured besides water tankers shall be put into service on need basis.
It was decided that market checking squads comprising of Tehsildar, executive officer Municipal Committee and SHOs of the concerned areas shall intensify market checking to curb the profiteering and hoarding besides checking illegal encroachments in the main town.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner along with the officers visited Imam Barah, Yagipora and directed for providing adequate water and power supply at the Imam Barah.
