SRINAGAR: Moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit many parts Kashmir during the preceding night, Met officials said today.
The tremor, which created panic among the residents in the Valley, was recorded at 1:16 am, an official of the MET department said. He however, said there was no report of any damage to property or injuries to any person.
He said the epicentre of tremor was near Chinese border.
