SRINAGAR: The Cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah approved following amendments to the SRO-384 of 2009 titled Jammu and Kashmir Medical & Dental Education (Appointment of Academic arrangement basis, rules 2009).
1. In service officials shall not be eligible for the engagement under the SRO.
2. Maximum period engagement shall be six years.
3. Extension upto 3 years shall be made on year to year basis by the Principal of the college concerned and for engaging beyond 03 years, the case will be considered by the government and once approved, Principal concerned shall be authorized to grant further extension upto six years.
4. Staff engaged on teaching posts shall be put on only teaching and research duties and shall not assigned any administrative duties at any level.
5. The post of the Medical Superintendents shall be included in rule-3 of the said rules and only retired personal who have held administrative post shall be eligible for such engagement. Deputy Medical Superintendents to be appointed on academic arrangements may be drawn from eligible candidates including retired Deputy Medical Superintendents but excluding in service candidates who may possess the requisite qualification but are employed under the government in a substantive capacity on other posts.
