SRINAGAR: Urging State Government to take all possible measures for the safety of the Kashmiri prisoners lodged in various jails outside the State, Bar Association Saturday declared that it would depute a team to Tihar Jail and thereafter take appropriate steps based on the report which would be submitted by the team.
During an executive meeting in Srinagar, Kashmir Bar Association expressed serious concern about the safety of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in different jails across India especially in New Delhis Tihar Jail.
Bar Association criticized the stand and attitude of Jammu and Kashmir government which it has taken with regard to rapes and molestations committed by the armed forces against the women of Kashmir particularly in Kunan Poshpora, Kupwara.
During the meeting, Bar expressed hope that the new Government in Pakistan will show keen interest in resolving the long pending Kashmir issue.
Terming the statement of legal luminary A.G.Noorani as unfortunate, the Bar advised him to accept history in real perspective and not to thrust his perception on Kashmiri Muslims.
