SRINAGAR: Senior Delhi-based Kashmiri journalist Iftikhar Gilani has been appointed as National Bureau Chief of DNA (Daily News and Analysis) in New Delhi.
DNA is scheduled to start publication from Delhi from May 13. Gilani joined DNA two years ago as Assistant Editor , and now with the launch of Delhi edition of the newspaper, he has been assigned the key responsibility of National Bureau Chief in the Capital. He is the first Kahsmiri journalist to hold such a prestigious position at a reputed media house in the country.
Previously, Gilani has worked with several national and international media organisation including Voice of Germany, Daily Times, The Friday Times (Pakistan), Tehelka and the Kashmir Times. Gilani is author of My Days in Prison, the best-selling book about his imprisonment in Tihar jail, and translated in several languages. He has held several journalistic responsibilities in the capital including the Parliament’s Press Advisory Committee and the Press Association of India.
