SRINAGAR: The Indian High Commission in Islamabad has denied visa to the wife and new-born child of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik who is to arrived in New Delhi from Pakistan on Saturday, reports said.
Returning after a 40-day private visit to the neighbouring country, Malik will land in Delhi without his family.
According to the JKLF, Malik had applied to the Indian High Commission for visas for his Pakistani wife and new-born girl 20 days ago, a move the diplomatic mission has rejected.
There was no response from the Indian High Commission to the familys application on its website, sources in the JKLF said.
Maliks artist wife had come to Kashmir after their marriage in Pakistan.
There was speculation in the Indian media recently about India revoking the JKLF chiefs passport over the issue of Hafiz Muhammad Sayeed appearing in his protest demonstration in Pakistan after the execution of Muhammad Afzal Guru.
