PAHALGAM: The iconic Hotel Pahalgam in the famed south Kashmir resort was gutted in a devastating fire Wednesday morning, eyewitnesses said.
The fire broke out in Hotel Pahalgam situated in the main Pahalgam market. However, before the fire tenders could reach there, blaze spread to the entire hotel, reducing it to ashes. However, no one was injured in the incident, they said, adding the cause of inferno was being ascertained.

Pahalgam hotel established in 1931 and spread in about 2 acres had 20 suites and 25 double bedrooms located in different blocks, with a splendid view of the river Lidder and snow clad mountains.
Hotel owed its popularity more to Bollywood as many hit movies in seventies were shot in the hotel.
