JAMMU-The 10-day Handicrafts Expo-2013 (exhibition-cum-sale) concluded here at Dusshera Ground Gandhinagar wherein handicrafts products of all the three regions were on display through more than 60 artisans and industrial cooperative societies.
Every year this exhibition is conducted to promote handicrafts of the state and provide a forum to artisans and industrial cooperative societies to promote the craft activities of skilled artisans.
Joint Director Handicrafts, Jammu, Mrs Rachna Sharma presided over the function and stressed the need to make valuable efforts in the direction to ease the unemployment problem among the educated/skilled youths and suggested to adopt the handicrafts sector as a means of livelihood. She also highlighted other incentives being provided by the handicrafts department to the artisans/industrial cooperative societies registered with the department.
