Tajs PRO Joins PDP

JAMMU: Senior Congress leader and minister Taj Mohiudins PRO Syed Najeeb Naqvi today joined PDP along with his scores of associates from Uri.

He joined the party in presence of PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

PDP patron on the occasion said that aim of his party was not grab power but to restore dignity and honour of the people. My only desire to make Jammu and Kashmir an Island of Peace and to establish lasting peace in this sub-continent, he said, adding Since its formation PDP has been working to create an atmosphere of reconciliation and to restore a sense of security and fearlessness among the people.

Speaking on the occasion former Deputy Chief Minister, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, reaffirmed commitment of the PDP to aggressively pursue the agenda of reconciliation and development in the State.

As the peace process was pioneered by the PDP, party would take this process to the logical conclusion by establishing lasting peace in this region by channelizing power of the people, he said.

PDP has shown in the past that it can facilitate the resolution process with prudence, and it is ready to shoulder the responsibility of taking the process to its logical conclusion,” he observed and reminded that by facilitating the peace and reconciliation process in the region PDP had proved that its credibility in the whole sub-continent.

Sayed Najeeb who joined PDP today, remained PRO of Congress Minister Taj Mohi ud Din for more than 15 years. Naqvi said that he has decided to join PDP due to policies and programmes of the party.
