Geelani visits acid-attack victim

SRINAGAR: Hurriyat conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has blamed media and cell phones for the growing social intolerance against women in the society. “It is the duty of all the citizens to contribute in eradicating nuisance in the society.” 

Geelani said during his visit to the acid attack victim at Apollo hospital in New Delhi. 

The separatist leader said that media and the mobile phones have added the fuel to the fire. “ Our Social fabric is getting week day by day, and it is the time when every citizen should feel the responsibility of regaining the society we were known for,” said Geelani.

He enquired about the progress in the recovery of the victim. Meanwhile doctors are believed to have told Geelani that the plastic surgery of the victim was successful, however the treatment on the eye of victim was still continuing. Geelani was accompanied by his son Dr. Nayeem Geelani while as Dr. Sameer Kaul was also present there.
