SRINAGAR: While conveying condolences, various political, religious and separatist organizations Monday expressed deep grief over the demise of former Pakistan Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad who breathed his last after suffering a heart attack on Saturday.
The Jamaat-e-Islami J&K in a meeting presided over by Ameer-e-Jamaat, Mohammad Abdullah Wani paid rich tributes to Qazi Hussain Ahmad and Prof. Abdul Gafoor.
On this occasion the great services rendered by these great leaders of Ummah were remembered and different aspects of thier life were highlighted, Jamaat spokesperson Advocate Zahid Ali said in a statement issued here.
In the meeting, besides Secretary General, All the District heads and Secretaries of Jamaat (J&K) participated and paid glorious tributes to the deceased leaders. At the end of the meeting, it was prayed to Allah to accept the services of the deceased towards Islam and Muslim Ummah and give them a prominent place in their heavenly abode along with His selected obedient servants, he added.
The Jamaat said that Qazi Hussain was a Prominent advocate of Islamic democracy and devoted whole his life for the cause of Islam and Muslim Ummah. He was a strong critic of world imperialist powers and always opposed their imperialistic and expansionist policies. He was a great supporter of all the oppressed nations from Palestine to Bosnia to Kashmir. He advocated the cause of Kashmiris in every forum and as such was considered as a popular leader of Kashmiris, it added.
Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front JKLF expressed heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of Ahmad. According to a press handout, the JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik who is in central jail Srinagar in a message, while paying tributes to Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that Muslim Ummah has lost a great leader and well wisher .
Qazi sahib was a great scholar and statesman whose compassion and fatherly figure will always be remembered, Malik added.
Democratic freedom Party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah has expressed his deep shock over the death of former jammat-i-Islami chief Qazi Hussain . Shah said that he (Qazi) was an institution in himself who worked for the propagation of Islam in Pakistan.
Qazi sahib strived hard for Islamic revolution in Pakistan. He was a great man of spirit with deep sincerity and affection. When Qazi Sahib was the Jamaat-i-Islami chief he put his hard work to work for the institution, Shah said.
Shah recalled his role and said that Qazi Hussain very much committed and dedicated about the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He played an important role in internationalizing the Kashmir cause at the international level. He was very serious and committed about the Kashmir cause and has played praiseworthy role for Kashmir at international level, he said.
Whole Kashmiri nation is indebted for the role he played for the Kashmir cause.
Shah termed his death an irrevocable loss for the whole Muslim world particularly the people of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir. We have lost a great mentor, Shah said.
Meanwhile, senior resistance leader and National Front Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan termed the death of Qazi Hussain Ahmad, as a great loss for the Muslims of subcontinent. Condoling the death of former Pakistan Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that Qazi had dedicated his life for the implementation of Islam.
Kashmiris have lost a great and sincere advocate because Qazi Hussain was raising his voice in favour of Kashmiris in every forum, Khan said adding that after the death of Prof Gafoor, Muslims of the subcontinent lost second great soul.
Spokesperson of JKLF (H) has also condoled the sad demise of Qazi Hussain Ahmad. In a statement spokesperson said, that the chairman of JKLF (H) Javaid Mir and Chairman Muslim Confrence Shabir Ahmad Dar from central jail Srinagar have expressed deep sorrow over the demise of legendary leader of Jamait Islami.
