SRINAGAR: The High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has condemned the destruction of property at Saidpora Sopore allegedly by the forces during an encounter in the village. The Bar has also condemned the alleged ill treatment of inmates at the Baramulla Sub Jail.
Today on 22nd day of December 2012, a meeting of office bearers and coopted Executive Committee members was held in the office of the Bar Association apart from discussing various issues of the Bar Association, it was resolved that the Bar Association condemns the treatment meted out to the undertrial prisoners, detenues in District Jail Baramulla by its officials, said the Bar spokesperson in a statement issued here.
The Bar Association also condemns the destruction of movable and immovable property by the forces at Saidapora Sopore. Bar Association extends its support to the families suffered because of the alleged encounter and a team of the Bar Association will be meeting the family members, he added..
The Bar Association also condemns the unparliamentary language used by Superintendent of Police Sopore against Atir-bin-yousuf reported by Kashmir Reader in its story published on 21st of December, 2012, he said.
