JAMMU: Senior leader and MLA from Nagrota constituency Jugal Kishore has been elected as new president of Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP.
Mr Kishore has elected as new chief of J&K BJP unit, the election for which held this morning at party headquarters,” official sources here said.
They said that Jugal polled 48 votes and was among three contenders, including ex-Mayor Kavinder Gupta and senior leader Chander Prakash Gupta.
Four-member team from New Delhi, including BJP’s national spokesman and MP Rajiv Partap Rudy, party in charge J&K Jagdish Mukhi, co-incharge R P Singh and Dr Anil Jain were here in the winter capital and supervised the electoral process. Meanwhile, outgoing president Shamsher Singh Manhas handed over the charge to the newly elected state BJP president Jugal Kishore.
