Srinagar At Minus 3 On Monday Night

SRINAGAR: Night temperature dipped further below the freezing point in Srinagar and most parts of the Kashmir valley on Monday, even as weathermen forecast rain or snow on Friday and Saturday due to approaching western disturbances.
Monday night was the coldest this season so far with a minimum temperature of minus 3 degrees Celsius which was two notches below normal, .2 degrees down from the previous night.
Mercury dropped below normal in the South Kashmir resort of Pahalgam, and the northern frontier Kupwara town as well.
Night temperature, however, improved in the Gulmarg ski resort, up by nearly two degrees to minus 5 from minus 6.9 the previous night.
The Leh region of Ladakh was freezing at a minimum of minus 12.2 degrees on Monday night, and Kargil at minus 7.
Weather is likely to remain dry for the coming three days, and rain or snow is likely over the Kashmir division on Friday and Saturday.
