Srinagar, Nov 24: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar has asked all the concerned involved in the restoration work of the revered shrine of Hazrat Peer Dastgeer Sahib (RA) to work in close synergy and coordination so that it is completed within the shortest possible time.
The Minister was addressing the officers during his on spot inspection of the restoration work here today.
Vice Chairman, Wakf Board, M.Y. Qadiri, Chief Engineer R&B, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Chief Architect, Muneer Khan, State Convener Intach, Saleem Beigh and other officers of JKPCC, Wakf Board members were present on the occasion.
Sagar said that the Chief Minister has already directed the executing agencies to ensure that the shrine is completed as soon as possible and to ensure that the same is done in shortest possible time frame. He said that the executing agencies should work in tandem to ensure that the bottlenecks, if any, are removed and the work executed on fast track basis.
The Minister also directed for restoration of the old architectural pattern and without any deviation from the older one. He said that the shrine is one of the most revered shrines of the state and we have to ensure that it is completed shortly for the devotees visiting to pay obeisance.
The Minister later attended a function organized by Gousia Traders Association in collaboration with Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers federation at Koolipora, Khanyar.
While addressing the traders, Sagar said that the government has already formulated a comprehensive plan for putting the old city on the tourist circuit by virtue of which the economic activities of the area will get a boost. He said that the Zainakadal and its catchment areas are being developed on heritage pattern so that more tourists get attracted and consequently the socio-economic profile of the people of the area would get a fillip.
