Chib inaugurates 22nd Annual Conference on Urology

JAMMU – Minister for Medical Education, Mr. R. S. Chib today inaugurated 22nd Annual Conference on Urology at Government Medical College, Jammu.

The Conference organized by North Zone Urological Society of India (NZUSI) in collaboration with Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu on Urology, will conclude on 18th November 2012. As many as 300 delegates from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Western UP, Eastern Rajasthan,   Jammu and Kashmir besides other States of the country are participating in the conference.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chib highlighted the objectives of the conference and said that it would help in understanding the latest medical facilities introduced in the field of Urology.

The Minister said that the young Urologists and medical professionals from the State participating in the conference would be benefitted by the lectures, practical, video and paper presentation which, he said, they will use in their professional practices.

Mr. Chib said that the conference would provide an opportunity to the participants to share their knowledge and experience about the latest advancement in the field of Urology, adding that modern Urology has now increasingly became a multidisciplinary field.

Appreciating the efforts of the organizers and the participating delegates, the Minister said that such prestigious conference is being held first time in our State. He asked the organizers to encourage young Urologist with regard to latest techniques so that they will provide their best services to the people of the State in the field of Urology.

Mr. Chib said that the present government is keen to provide all basic as well as advanced Medicare facilities to the people of the State at their door steps. He said that the setting up of Super Specialty Hospital in Jammu is one of the best achievements of the present government in medical field. He said that the Union Minister for Health, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad is also taking keen interest for early completion of the hospital so that the people of the Jammu and Kashmir will not need to go outside the State and country for advanced  treatment. He said that the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah is also monitoring the pace of work of the Hospital for its early completion.

The Minister distributed awards among the best performers for their Excellency in the field of Urology.

 Secretary, Mr. M.K. Dewidi presided over the function, while  President, Urology Society of India, Dr. J.N. Kulkarni was guest of honour.

Other delegates, who were present on the occasion, included Secretary USI, Dr. S.K. Singh, President, MZ-USI, Dr. Raju Sood, Secretary, NZ-USI, Dr. Raju Kumar, Principal and Dean, GMC, Jammu, Dr. Anniece Chowdhary, Chairman organizing committee, Dr. C.L. Gupta, organizing Secretary of NZ-USICON, Dr. Sunil Gupta and other senior medicos were also present on the occasion.
