JAMMU – A sub divisional team of the border division of R. S Pura visited various market places and took stock of the preparedness for the ensuing Diwali festival.
Led by Sub Divisional Magistrate Suraj Prakash Rakwal, the team too serious exception to extension of business activity by the shopkeepers on the pavements and issued immediate necessary instructions to the field staff for removing encroachments and making the markets easily accessible for shoppers as also commuters.
The team also included Sub Divisional Police Officer, Diwakar Singh, which emphasized the need for ensuring supply of essentials at reasonable prices and warned against the attempts of profiteering. It also called upon sweet meat sellers to take extra care about health and hygiene and emphasized the need for making the division polythene free.
The team also sought generating awareness about use of fire crackers on the festival for the overall safety of people, especially the children.
