According to him Indian medical tradition has 2500 years of great history. Ayurveda, Siida Vaidya and Unani were the most popular Indian medical traditions and Girijana vaidya also another great medical tradition. Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani have been documented. India has 40,000 medicinal plants and more than 20,000 drugs were being manufactured from them in various levels.
Private hospitals must avoid unnecessary prescriptions, tests and services to patients, according to him. Some hospitals were providing very good services to needy patients.But many other hospitals were only concentrating on making money.
Indian nurses are the best amongst the world in terms of service, particularly in Kerala, he says.
