Lahore – Pakistani actress and dancer Nargis has decided to quit showbiz and become a religious scholar after spending two decades in Lollywood.
The Express Tribune quoted Nargis, as saying that she had decided to quit showbiz six years ago, but had to continue working in order to pay off her debts and earn money for setting up her beauty parlour.
She said she would now do a scholarly course and expressed hope that artists who consider her their ideal would also follow the same path.
Nargis, whose real name is Ghazallah, reportedly had an affair with an underworld don of Pakistan called Abid Boxer. Their relationship came to an end after Boxer tortured her and shaved her head after she had moved to Canada to be with him.
