Rs. 2 lakh realized as donation on spot
Srinagar – Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon who is also the Chairman of Regional Red Cross Society chaired a meeting regarding the fund raising for the construction of Red Cross House at SKICC here today.
Dr. Samoon stressed for voluntary donations to make the society more viable for providing succor to the needy.
. Feroz Ahmad (Retired IAS) who is the Honorary General Secretary of the Society made a PowerPoint presentation about the various activities of the society.
The design/layout of the building to be constructed on Red Cross road with project cost of Rs. 17 crore shall have 18 shops and parking spot for commercial activities to raise funds for the society.
Speaking on the occasion, the participants stressed for wholehearted contribution to the Red Cross Society besides creating awareness among masses and focus on relief and rehabilitation activities.
It was decided that donation boxes shall be placed at all business centres, commercial tax and toll posts so that sustained funding can be ensured for the society.
Rs. 2 lakhs were donated by the participants as good will gesture towards Red Cross Society on the occasion.
