Srinagar – The election process to the Block Development Councils kicked off in Baramulla district on Monday with the filing of nomination papers by Syed Najeb Naqvi and Hamid-ur-Rehman Mir for Uri and Boniyar blocks respectively.
Soon after the filing of nomination papers hundreds of people at Uri took Najeb and Mir in a procession and hailed their nomination.
Both the candidates addressed the people on the occasion and hoped the return of peace, progress and democracy to the state.
President, District Congress Committee, Baramulla, Mir Mushtaq Nowshehri and other office bearers were present on the occasion.
