Rs 6.68 Cr Utilised on supplementary nutrition in Pulwama, Shopian
Pulwama – Director, Social Welfare, Bashir Ahmad Bhat today convened a review meeting of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) with the concerned Officers of South Kashmir districts of Pulwama and Shopian and took stock of various welfare schemes launched by the Government.
During the discourse of meeting, it was given out that Rs. 6.68 crore have been spent for providing supplementary nutrition for 75,196 beneficiaries registered in 1790 Anganwari Centres of the twin districts.
It was also informed in the meeting that Rs. 6.90 crore were spent in Pulwama district under various pension schemes provided to widows, old aged and handicapped persons during 2011-12 while as Rs. 4.58 crore have been provided as pension during current financial year till date.
While in Shopian district, Rs. 3.25 crore were distributed as pension among 8508 beneficiaries during 2011-12 while as during current year Rs. 1.18 crore have been utilized as pension to old aged persons and widows.Speaking on the occasion, the Director Social Welfare stressed upon he officers to work with added zeal and dedication and also ensure that all the scheme are implemented at ground level in letter and spirit.
