Baramulla – District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, . Ghulam Ahmad Khawaja today distributed wheel chairs, callipers and artificial limbs to the persons with disabilities at a workshop organized by Sultan-ul-Arifeen Artificial Limb and Caliper Fitment Centre in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayta Samiti, Jaipur at Dak Bungalow, Baramulla here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Development Commissioner urged upon the Civil Society to come forward and help the people with disabilities and those in need as part of their social responsibility.
District Development Commissioner underscored the need for establishing such workshops in border areas of the Baramulla district, adding that charity and social responsibility like characteristics shall be promoted in the society. He also stressed for making awareness among people with regard to utility of these service.
On the occasion, 06 wheel chairs, 04 tricycles, 24 limbs and 08 calipers were distributed free of cost among the poor and needy beneficiaries of Baramulla district.
