Srinagar, Sept 22: Democratic Freedom Party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah
has strongly criticized the police action on the protestors and has said that this shows the true brutal picture of police forces in the valley.
“We salute the Muslims who came on the streets for protesting the release of the blasphemous video. The police action on the people is highly condemnable. They resorted to aerial firing and lobbed tear smoke shells just to quell the peaceful and justified protests,” Shah said adding it was the right of every individual Muslim to protest the unbearable.
He said Police beat up the people without any justification and it barged into the houses and arrested the youngsters. “Police forcibly entered the houses and destroyed everything that came in their in their way. This shows the lawlessness and brutality prevailing in the valley, Shah said.
Democratic Freedom party has also expressed sympathy with the protestors. Valley wide protests were held in Srinagar, Islamabad, Baramula and other districts of the valley. Meanwhile protests have continued in the whole World particularly Middle East and North Africa after the surfacing of the US made film “The innocence of Muslims” by Sam Bacile and the subsequent publishing of cartoons.
The authorities talk highly about the democracy in the state but on the other hand do not allow the people to protest against the film that is against the spirits of Islam and that has strongly hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community worldwide, Shah added.
