‘Imam Khomeini had Kashmiri forefathers’

SRINAGAR: The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Ghulam Raza AnsariWednesday stressed the need for unity and integrity of Muslim Ummah and said that Allah and Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) have laid stress on unity.

The Ambassador who is on three day visit in Kashmir while addressing a gathering at Gund Khwaja Qasim area of North Kashmirs Baramulla district said that those who love and respect Imam Khomeini should understand that he laid stress on unity among Muslims all over the globe.

He said that the purpose of the Islam is to direct humanity toward the path of perfection and Imam Khomeinis revolution established the Islamic government in Iran in order to reach such goal.

Ambassador emphasized that We have to move forward and acquire knowledge in science and technology. The nations living life of ignorance and illiteracy are always under imperialist slavery and bound in chains, Iranian envoy said.

Mr Ansari said that the ancestors of Imam Khomeini were from Kashmir and he (late Imam) had deep love for the people of Kashmir.

The founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini was the greatest leader of 20th century who had established a successful model Islamic state.

Ambassador Ansari said that we have been ordained to fast hold the rope of Allah (SWT) firmly and not to get ourselves divided into fragments.

We are Muslims first then we are divided into sects. A Muslim is a Muslim and no sect should come in way of their unity. We must spread the light of love and affection and respect each other. We must follow the footsteps of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he said.
