Jammu, Sept 22: The coalition government in the state may increase the cap on subsidised LPG cylinders from six to nine cylinders.
“As ruling National Conference is in coalition with Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, there is a plan to increase the cap on subsidised LPG cylinders from six to nine cylinders,” Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Transport Mr Qamar Ali Akhoon said.
Mr Akhoon said, “we were watching Centre’s final decision and whatever they will decide, will also be discussed in the State Cabinet meeting for further action.”
UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi recently said that number of subsidised cylinders will be increased to nine in the Congress ruled states. The Congress-led UPA government had, on September 20, announced an annual six-cylinder cap on subsidised cylinder for every family.
