1686 More Test Positive In J&K, Tally At 54096
Srinagar– Jammu and Kashmir reported fourteen more Covid-19 related deaths in last 24 hours, taking the fatality count due the the deadly disease to 880.
Among the victims, official sources said, eight belonged to Jammu division and six others to Kashmir Valley.
Regarding deaths from Valley includes a 70-year-old man from Mabalnar Tangmarg, 71-year-old man from Nowgam Bonpora, 65-year-old man from Indra Nagar here, 60-year-old man from Nowgam, a 70-year-old woman from Shangus Anantnag, a 70-year-old from Wanihama Check. They said that while the man from Baramulla died at SKIMS Soura, three Srinagar residents succumbed at SMHS hospital here while sexagenarian woman from Anantnag died at GMC Anantnag and Budgam septuagenarian at home.
Among the victims from Jammu include a 74-year-old man from Talab Tillo Jammu, A female from same area, a man from Shastri Nagar Jammu. The other deaths were reported Rajouri (3) and one each from Kathua and Kishtwar, they added.
With these deaths, officials said, 880 people have succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir so far. Among them, they said, 727 were from the Valley while 151 others were from Jammu division.
Srinagar district with 251 deaths tops the list followed by Baramulla (113), Budgam (71), Pulwama (60), Anantnag (53), Kupwara (56), Jammu (88), Kulgam (40), Shopian (29), Bandipora (28), Ganderbal (25), Rajouri (18), Kathua (12), Doda (9), Samba (8), Poonch (6), Udhampur (4), Reasi (3), Kishtwar (2), and Ramban (1).

Jammu and Kashmir reported 1686 of coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking its count to 54096, official said on Saturday.
The case tally is second highest day spike in J&K and it is for the eleven day in running that daily caseload has exceeded one thousand mark.
With 116 travelers among them, official sources told GNS 875 cases were from Jammu and 811 from Kashmir Valley.
Giving breakup of the cases, they said Srinagar reported 185, Budgam 158, Baramulla 79, Pulwama 44,
Anantnag 47, Kupwara 62, Bandipora 128, Kulgam 22, Ganderbal 78, Shopian 8, Jammu 405, Udhampur 56, Rajouri 70, Kathua 48, Samba 29, Poonch 79, Ramban 31, Doda 94, Reasi 18 and Kishtwar 45.
Moreover, they said, 452 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 146 from Jammu Division and 306 from Kashmir Valley. (with GNS inputs)
