Srinagar: The Privilege Committee (PC) of the legislative assembly is likely to submit its final report this week over Gen (Retd) V.K. Singhs letter wherein he had said his comments over the Technical Support Division (TSD) funding were misunderstood and that he has much regards to the democratic institutions of Jammu and Kashmir.
Gen (Retd). Singh had submitted his reply to a breach of privilege notice issued by the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on November 19, 2013.
The speaker of the Legislative assembly Mubarak Gul said that extra time for the privilege committee has been for the submission of the final remarks over the reply of the V.K.Singh. Due to bad weather and the related reasons, the time for the submission of the reply to the privilege committee has been extended and we probably will receive the response by this week only
The Legislative Assembly speaker Mubarak Gul on December 14, 2013 had told KNS that any decision on Gen. (Retd) V.K.Singhs reply to the breach of privilege motion will be taken after the members of the Privilege Committee (PC) submit their respective opinions. I have forwarded Gen. Singhs reply to the respective members of privilege committee and have asked them to submit their opinions within one week. The final decision over the issue will be taken after that, Gul had said.
Pertinently, Gen (Retd) Singh in his response to the breach of privilege notice has said that in light of facts and circumstances, the allegations leveled against him by way of a breach of privilege motion by members of Legislative Assembly are not made out and appear to be a case of misinformation.
