SRINAGAR: The sessions court Kupwara has arrayed the private complainant in Kunan Poshpora rape case as a party on the basis of their protest petition.
The case is likely to be heard in January second week.
The court decided the Kunan Poshpora survivors application on their right to be heard and contest the armys revision petition challenging the identification parade order of CJM Kupwara after filing of closure report.
Karnail Singh Wazir, counsel for the army sought time to consult army higher ups on future course of action and stated that the army may seek remedy.
Meanwhile, according to Khuram Parvez, coordinator Coalition of Civil Societies, the investigations by SP Kupwara, Abdul Jabbar, remain stalled. The contempt petition against SP Abdul Jabbar filed by the Kunan Poshpora survivors for carrying out no investigations since 18 June 2013, also remains pending and is listed on 29 February 2014 before Judicial Magistrate, Kupwara, who is presently on leave, Parvez has said while quoting reports he had received.
