SRINAGAR: Former MP and senior National Conference leader Abdul Rashid Shaheen, on Wednesday said that the corruption is rampant and the babuism has eaten into vitals of Jammu and Kashmir.
Asked about the rumors of his joining Congress, Shaheen said: Off course, I am hurt but yet to decide about the future course of action. The NC former MP observed quoted his party workers saying that people are being appointed through backdoor channels and the meritorious candidates are neglected.
Shaheen remarked that corruption is rampant and the administrative inertia has further aggravated the problems faced by the public. Unfortunately, my constituency and the workers have been neglected the most by my own party, he told KNS.
The NC senior leader said that he is scheduled to meet his party leadership including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and party president Dr Farooq Abdullah next week. I will discuss with them the problems faced by my workers in the constituency which has been left most disarrayed in the present circumstances.
Shaheen said that the party leadership should have addressed the problems being faced by the NC workers at the grass root level and delaying so, will only increase the alienation among the workers. (KNS)
