SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education declared the result for annual matriculation examination on Monday in which nine out of first 20 positions were bagged by Iqbal Memorial Institute (IMI) Girls Bemina.
At least 269 students have made it to merit list in which 186 are girls and 83 boys. Most of the positions were bagged by Presentation Convent School, Rajbagh.
Kauser Jan, daughter Prof Muhammad Maqbool Rather of Iqbal Memorial Institute (IMI) Girls Bemina topped the merit list of the 49,000 students who had appeared in class 10 examination. Kauser Jan under Roll number 874272 secured 98 per cent with 495 marks. The girl students of IMI Bemina swept 9 positions in the merit list.
Second position is shared by a Kashmiri Pandit student Ritaish Raina of St. Peters Institute of Academic Education Anantnag, Meelad Muhammad Shiekh of Tyndale Biscoe School Srinagar and Aasima Khurshid Wani of Presentation Convent Rajbagh. All these students secured 98.80 percent with 494 marks each.
Five students including two from Presentation Convent Rajbagh have secured third positions.
Bilal Yousuf of Hista Higher Secondary School Anantnag, Peerzadi Arzeena Imtiyaz of St. Peters Institute of Academic Education Anantnag, Faizan Manzoor of St Josephs Higher Secondary School Baramulla, Fariha Ashfaq Hamdani and Safhat Buchh of Presentation Convent Rajbagh bagged third positions by securing 98.60 percent with 493 marks each.
Fourth position was jointly held by E.F.F.EMM Children Schools Bilal Yousuf Tantray with 492 marks (98.40 percent), Humaira Muzaffar of Minto Circle High School, Saiqa Khan of Presentation Convent Rajbagh and Hafsa Masood of Mallinson Girls Higher Secondary School Shiekh Bagh Srinagar respectively.
Five students shared the fifth position with 491 marks (98.20 percent). These students include Afroze Ahmad Ganaie of Government Higher Secondary School Nanil, Danish Amin of Public English Medium High School Bijbehara, Insha Farooq of Arun Public High School Natipora, Mudasir Majeed of Government High School Zongalpora and Shayan Zahoor of Presentation Convent Rajbagh.
Sixth position was jointly held by Oxford Presentation High School Anantnags Arshia Shaan with 490 marks (98 percent), Naureen Murtaza of Unique Educational Institute Dooru, Majid Muneer of Minto Circle, Zaid Pervaiz Bhat of Tyndale Biscoe, Manaal Butt of Presentation Convent Rajbagh, Shaniya Basharat of Lawrence Vidya Bhawan Kursu Rajbagh, Zainish Ghishti and Urwa Tul Wusqa of Mallinson Girls Higher Secondary School Shiekh Bagh Srinagar.
Ten students amoung with five students pertain from Presentation Convent Rajbagh shared the seventh position with 489 marks (97.80 percent). These students included Sofia Majid Moona of St Josephs Higher Secondary School Baramulla, Qaiser Manzoor Bhat of Kehkashan Public High School Handwara, Mosaib Ibni Ashraf of Hajahad Public School Awantipora, Asma Rafie of Mohammadia Higher Secondary School Shopian, Shahida Amin Wani of Green Valley Educational Institute Illahibagh and Anqa Ahmed, Asar Farooq, Maryam Rashid, Naireen Imran and Sheeba Shah of Presentation Convent Rajbagh.
Eight position was also jointly shared by five students with 488 marks (97.60 percent). These students included Simra Ajaz Keen of Oxford Presentation High School Anantnag, Naimat-ul-Mahan of St Lukes Convent High School Anantnag, Sadia Ali of Presentation Convent School Rajbagh, Umul Baneen Khan of Mallinson Girls Higher Secondary School Srinagar and Anub Zahoor of New Tiny Hearts High School Ganderbal respectively.
Ninth Position was also jointly shared by Shiekh Suzanne of Radiant Public School Batengoo Anantnag, Sabahat Fayaz of F.E.I Higher Secondary School Nowgam, Binish Hameed of MEI Higher Secondary School Pampore, Muhammad Abdul Muqeet of Tyndale Biscoe, Syed Azha Nair Andrabi of Green Valley Institute Illahibagh, Taizeen Khurshid of R.P.School Mallabagh, Injila Hamid, Isha Wali, Maria Rehmani, Zuha Atta of Presentation Convent School Rajbabh, Tayiba Altaf of IMI Girls Bemina, Aneeka Pervez, Suha Latif and Zeeza Zahoor of Mallinson School Srinagar.
Twelve students shared the tenth position respectively with 486 marks (97.20 percent). These students included Fiza Gulzar of Prime Public High School Barzullah, Bazila Ashraf of S.M.D Higher Secondary Institute Munawarabad, Aafreen Shah, Amaara Manan, Daniya Khurshid Huma Jan, Saiher Pervez all from Presentation Convent School Rajbagh, Ansabah Bint Mushtaq and Sadiya Rasool of IMI Girls Bemina, Zuha Reyaz Shah and Isra Ishaq of Mallinson Girls School Srinagar and Afshana Faiz of New Dream Land Higher Secondary School Ganderbal.
Total number of students enrolled for these examinations were 49,358 amoung which 26,511 were boys and 22,847 were girls. Girls once again outshine boys in merit list. The total number of students who qualified were 31,130 while 14,432 students cut a sorry figure in these examinations. The overall pass percentage was 70.58 (Boys 73.82 percent) and (Girls 66.82 percent).
