SRINAGAR: Police and CRPF on Thursday established special nakas across Srinagar city following reports that a Maruti vehicle was stolen from Parimpora in the outskirts of capital.
Official sources said that a man Nazir Ahmad Bagwan lodged a complaint with police station Parimpora, saying that his white colour Maruti car bearing registration number (JK01R- 5094) has been stolen by unknown persons from Parimpora area last evening.
The police flashed the news and other security agencies fearing that the stolen vehicle may have been taken by militants to carry out attacks against the forces went into action. CRPF and police laid nakas checked all Maruty vehicles. Police has registered a case and have started further investigations in this regard.
Meanwhile, the CRPF is maintaining vigil in Srinagar, especially the outskirts following Wednesdays militant attack in Pohru, Nowgam that left a CRPF officer dead and trooper injured.
